We are so proud doing our own landscaping this year, putting all four grown kids to work! Last year I loved hiring landscapers and seeing it all finish in a day or two. This year, we decided to save a little money and do a little more research on shrugs and flowers.
My top two recommendations for flowers, shrubs & trees:
MJ Farms – Heading west on Continental, you cross over Davis and it will soon be on your right side of road. PROS: Greenhouses, so everything is lush and beautiful. We love our Sedum Autumn Joy and Autumn Fire Azalea bushes, along with Hibiscus and Pentas flowers. Plus lots of flower selection for my pots. They also sell bagged soil that is incredible! CONS: They don’t have pricing posted on everything and not a lot of sales people around to help, but be patient…it is worth it! It took a second visit to fall in love with this place.
Blooming Colors Nursery – If I could buy it all here, I would! They have an incredible loyalty program. PROS: You receive a 10% credit toward future purchases on everything you buy. They have wonderful sales. We bought Holly trees for our backyard and they were 30% off. They have flowers too, but nothing like MJ Farms or Calloways. CONS: They are short on staff for planting trees, so it is taking longer than normal to get your trees delivered & planted. UPDATE: Trees are planted, yay! They did an awesome job, Virginia (manager) showed up too…very impressed!
One last shout out to Alpine in Southlake off of Brumlow (near 26), this place is rocking with customer service, great product, competitive pricing! We were lucky to get our mulch the same day as we ordered. We also liked that there selection over other places we checked out. Highly recommend! Plus the manager called the next day to make sure it all went smooth with delivery! Amazing.
If you have a recommendation to share of any local businesses, let me know so I can feature them here!
My fall session dates will be opening soon, look for more information in the next few days!
Always a pleasure,
